The sale of the Apple Watch 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 products in the United States, which were found to violate patents by the International Trade Commission, has been completely banned.

The patent infringement lawsuit between Apple and medical device maker Masimo that began earlier this year has reached unprecedented proportions. Masimo accused Apple of stealing trade secrets and even banned Apple in the United States.

Masimo, which sought $3.1 billion in patent infringement damages, was also found guilty by the International Trade Commission. In October, the order requiring action against Apple entered the 60-day Presidential approval process. The confirmation process is expected to end on December 25, but Biden has yet to rule out the decision. Apple also had to take action on this.

Apple Stores will remove the Apple Watch 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 from their shelves starting December 21. Apple-approved retail outlets will be sold out from December 24. Apple Watches have offered blood oxygen measurement features since 2020, but the patents Masimo is suing for are only available on the Apple Watch 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models.
