It was previously announced that official support for Windows 10 will end in October 2025. Although Microsoft indicated that new features would still be added, the closure of the Beta Channel suggests that the system will now only receive bug fixes and security patches. Thus, version 22H2 will be the last major release for Windows 10, and no further significant updates will be provided.
Since the Beta Channel is now closed, the last Beta build for Windows 10 will be this one… Updates will now only be released through the Release Preview Channel.
According to the company’s official blog, users in the Beta Channel will be transferred to Microsoft’s active Release Preview channel. The new Build 19045 offers limited updates, primarily including bug fixes and minor improvements for user experience.
As one final move before the closure of the Beta Channel, Microsoft has introduced ads for Microsoft Store and Windows 11 apps in the Start Menu. In summary, the closure of the Beta Channel signals Windows 10’s final days, and Microsoft is now focusing on moving users to Windows 11.
Those who want to manually switch to the Release Preview Channel can do so by navigating to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program and selecting the Release Preview Channel.
