Spotify AI Playlist is an artificially intelligent feature that creates playlists using text-based prompts. Spotify has already launched AI Playlist or "Artificial Intelligence Playlist" in beta. However, the feature is only available to Android and iOS users in the UK and Australia for now. In the statement made, it was stated that the feature will come to other users in the coming months.
Spotify already offers personalised playlists based on genre and time. However, these are not very functional for those looking for more specific playlists. For example, Spotify does not suggest a playlist such as "Songs to listen to with stools flying in the background". With AI Playlist, you will be able to create the list you are looking for by entering a similar prompt. Of course, the example we have given is a bit extreme: prompts can refer to anything, but for the healthiest results, according to Spotify, genres, moods, artists and periods should be referred to.
Spotify says that with AI Playlist, it uses large language models (LLM) to convert the commands you write into a playlist as if you were using ChatGPT. The company also uses personalisation technology (information about the listener's history and preferences) to create the list.
How to use Spotify AI Playlist feature?
Spotify AI Playlist is located in the "Library" tab in the application. On this screen, the AI Playlist feature can be accessed by tapping the plus button (+) at the top right. AI Playlist appears here next to the "Playlist" and "Blend" options.
When you click on the feature, a window opens where you can enter a text-based prompt.You can write whatever you want or use Spotify's hints. Then you can create the playlist by clicking "Create".After the playlist is created, you can also make edits.For example, you can turn your playlist into its final form by entering commands such as "less pop" or "more rock". To remove a song from the list, just swipe the song to the left.
