A few months ago, Apple introduced a revolutionary feature to our lives with the iPhone 14 series. It has been announced by Apple that the new iPhone 14 series can be connected to satellites spread in low earth orbit for emergency communication. It looks like Samsung will bring a similar feature in the upcoming Galaxy S23 series.
Satellite feature of iPhone 14 may also come to Galaxy S23
According to the reported news, Samsung is working with Iridium Communications for use in emergencies. The satellite communication system of the Galaxy S23 will be carried out via Iridium's 66 satellites in low earth orbit. Thanks to these satellites, voice search and data communication will be provided. On the other hand, it is stated that Samsung has been working with Iridium on this feature for two years. In turn, Apple is working with Global Star to provide satellite connectivity on the iPhone 14 series. Huawei, another company that offers this feature, uses Beidou satellites for the Mate 50 Pro series.
The source of the news also states that the Galaxy S23 will be able to share text messages, voice communication and low-dimensional imagery via satellite communication, but due to the nature of the satellite connection, a high-speed connection is not in question for now. In addition, it is unclear whether the satellite link service will be available in all countries.
