New details have emerged about the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. New phones may be supported with Samsung GN2 sensor and Gradual HDR feature. The upcoming smartphones sound ambitious on the camera side. In his Twitter post, Wojciechowski announced that the Google Camera Go application has gained support for the Progressive HDR feature, and the application codes include Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, respectively. This shows that upcoming smartphones may come with Samsung's new ISOCELL GN2 sensor.

To recall, Progressive HDR emerged as a feature that allows increasing the dynamic range on the same pixel array to capture multiple frames in short, medium and long exposures. Introduced with Samsung's ISOCELL GN2 sensor, this feature makes it possible to capture more advanced and quality frames. Today, Google uses the Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor in the current Pixel 7 series phones. We can say that the GN2, which comes with a larger sensor size and Gradual HDR, will indicate a significant improvement in the Pixel 8 series.

Also, Wojciechowski confirmed the existence of the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, as well as the Pixel Tablet Pro. Located in the same app code as the Pixel 8 series, this new tablet will be a more powerful version of the base model.
