Samsung Confirms: The Next Generation of Bixby AI Is Coming

The competition in artificial intelligence shows no signs of slowing down, and companies without this technology will struggle to survive. Samsung recently showcased its upgraded Bixby Virtual Assistant with enhanced AI capabilities.

Samsung has been working on Bixby for years, and a major update appears to be on the horizon. A video released today hints at advanced features similar to Apple’s Siri, without explicitly mentioning Bixby’s name.

Meet the New Bixby AI

The first glimpse of Bixby’s AI integration appeared in China with the Galaxy W25 series. Now, the assistant is rumored to make its global debut during the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22, launching alongside the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.

Samsung’s 17-second teaser provides clues about Bixby AI’s expanded features. In the clip, a woman asks her device to “find an outdoor, cat-friendly Italian restaurant”. She then sends the details to a friend and adds it to her calendar.

Although Bixby’s name isn’t mentioned, the video confirms capabilities like understanding natural language and executing multiple tasks simultaneously. Additionally, improved third-party app integrations are expected, allowing reservations to be made and saved directly to the calendar.

Anticipated Features

Earlier versions of Bixby introduced in China could better grasp contextual commands, respond with web-based content, and even translate pages while saving documents in Word or PPT formats.

The new Bixby will also offer a streamlined full-screen interface with a minimalist text field and a popup mode that can be launched on any app.
