Samsung's folding smartfhones have reached a certain quality, but according to Google, not all Android manufacturers produce folding phones of the same quality. According to Mishaal Rahman, future foldable phones will have to meet certain criteria.

All folding phones with Android operating system will be resistant to at least 200,000 folding/unfolding operations. Samsung guarantees this number in its latest folding phones Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. There are even manufacturers that exceed this number. For example; The newly introduced Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is resistant to 500,000 folds. However, this will not be enough. After all this folding and unfolding, the phone's hinges need to maintain 80% of the original friction bending moment to prevent them from loosening over time.

The second issue is; software support. Brands have to offer at least two major Android versions, three years of security updates. Samsung has also caught the standards in this regard.
