The AI-powered app Death Clock estimates when a person might die based on their lifestyle and habits. In addition to providing this prediction, the app also offers tips for a healthier and longer life.
With the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, tools addressing personal health and life expectancy are emerging. Launched in July, the mobile app "Death Clock" has captured attention by providing users with a lifespan prediction. Using AI to analyze lifestyle and health data, it offers insights into potential lifespan.
According to Sensor Tower, the app has been downloaded over 125,000 times in a short period. Although it is not directly available in some countries like Azerbaijan, it can be accessed using VPN or alternative methods. While its name may sound ominous, developers emphasize that the purpose is not simply to predict a death date but to highlight how habits impact lifespan and encourage healthier changes. Death Clock is available on both iOS and Android platforms.
The app analyzes data from over 1,200 life expectancy studies involving 53 million participants to offer accurate predictions. It examines metrics such as diet, exercise, sleep patterns, and stress levels, promising more reliable results than traditional methods.
Such predictions about lifespan can significantly influence individual and societal decisions. They are particularly important in areas like retirement planning, insurance, and healthcare expenses. The app’s creator, Brent Franson, told Bloomberg that the accuracy of Death Clock's data could reshape policies and behaviors.
