Apple is rumoured to add two useful features to the iPhone Notes app with the iOS 18 update. The Notes app will become even more powerful.
Apple's iOS 18 update is eagerly awaited. The innovations coming with iOS 18 will be introduced at the WWDC event between 10-14 June. It is rumoured that iOS 18 will add voice notes and a few new maths-related features to the Notes app.
- Built-in voice recording
First, iOS 18 will allow iPhone users to record voice notes directly from within the Notes app. These recordings will then be embedded in Notes. Currently, audio recordings from the Voice Memos app can be copied and pasted into the Notes app, but with iOS 18, this step will no longer be necessary.
- Maths notes
The next version of the Notes app will gain a new feature called Maths Notes. The feature will strengthen the connection with Apple's Calculator app, allowing users to integrate information from Calculator into the Notes app.
The new features that Apple will add to the Notes app with iOS 18 are available in Microsoft's OneNote app. OneNote allows users to add and solve equations, create handwritten formulas, perform unit conversions, and even add two-dimensional graphics to notes. OneNote is one of the most popular apps in the iOS and macOS App Store, and the macOS version was even recently selected by Apple editors. Apple will likely add similar features to its own Notes app.
- When will iOS 18 be released?
Apple will introduce iOS 18 at the developers conference WWDC, which will take place from 10 June to 14 June 2024. After the event, iOS 18 developer beta version is expected to be released, and iOS 18 final version is expected to be released in September.
