Apple will introduce the highly anticipated iPhone 16 series next September. However, it is claimed that the company will make a significant change in the new series it will introduce next year. According to the reports, with the iPhone 17 series, a new model called ‘iPhone 17 Slim’ will enter the life of users.
Although the iPhone 17 series is more than 1 year away, whispering newspapers have already started production. According to Ice Universe, one of the well-known tipsters, the iPhone 17 series will also be released as four models. However, Apple will replace the iPhone 17 Plus model with the iPhone 17 Slim model. Therefore, the new series will consist of iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max and the new 17 Slim. As the name suggests, the Slim model will have a much thinner design.
While the standard iPhone 17 and 17 Pro models have a 6.27-inch screen, Slim and Pro Max will have 6.65-inch and 6.86-inch screens respectively. The standout feature is that all models in the iPhone 17 series will support 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate and LTPO technology. Apple offers this only on Pro models for now. It is also stated that the Dynamic Island design will continue in the same way.
It is rumoured that the Pro series will also receive camera-oriented updates and improvements next year. The new triple 48MP camera system and ToF sensor will also receive its share of improvements. iPhone 17 and 17 Slim are expected to maintain the dual camera setup.
In terms of performance, the iPhone 17 and 17 Slim are rumoured to be powered by Apple's A19 Bionic chip, while the Pro models will feature the more powerful A19 Pro, which is expected to be built on TSMC's advanced 3nm process. The devices are also expected to use Qualcomm Snapdragon modem for cellular connectivity.
On the price side, iPhone 17 is expected to be $ 799, iPhone 17 Slim is expected to be about $ 1299, iPhone 17 Pro is expected to be $ 1099 and iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to be $ 1199. The rumour that the Slim model will be significantly more expensive than the Pro models raises big question marks for now.
