iOS 18 AI support: Not limited to Siri

According to the new report, iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 will include a number of new artificial intelligence features. Not only Siri, but also other Apple apps will be made more effective with artificial intelligence.

While OpenAI demonstrated the impressive state of artificial intelligence with its text-to-video creation tool Sora, Apple has only recently stepped into the world of artificial intelligence. iOS 18 update is rumoured to bring a number of new artificial intelligence features to iPhones. In addition to the assistant Siri, native apps will also be powered by AI.

Which apps will be powered by artificial intelligence?

Apple is allegedly training both Siri and Spotlight search with large language models. Both Siri and Spotlight will be enhanced with the ability to accurately answer more complex questions. The revamped version of Spotlight is expected to offer deeper integration with certain functions and features in apps. Apple's Music app is also expected to offer app-specific AI features such as automatically creating playlists and Keynote creating presentation slides. Other apps rumoured to get deeper AI integration in iOS 18 include Health, Messages, Numbers and Shortcuts.

When will iOS 18 be released?

Apple will share details on productive artificial intelligence later this year. iOS 18 is expected to be announced at the Apple developers conference WWDC in June, and the update is expected to be released in September. It is also rumoured that some new artificial intelligence features will be exclusive to iPhone 16 models.
