Microsoft recently announced that it has signed a five-year, $1.1 billion deal with Coca-Cola to use its cloud computing and artificial intelligence services.
Microsoft and the Coca-Cola Company recently announced a five year strategic partnership to align Coca-Cola's core technology strategy system-wide, drive adoption of leading-edge technology and foster innovation globally. Under the partnership, Coca-Cola will utilise Microsoft's cloud computing and artificial intelligence services.
Under the $1.1 billion, 5 year agreement, Microsoft and Coca-Cola will work together on Azure OpenAI to develop productive AI use cases across a range of business functions. This includes testing how Copilot for Microsoft 365 can improve workplace productivity.
For those who don't know, Copilot can be thought of as a derivative of ChatGPT. Built and customised by Microsoft on OpenAI's GPT 4 model, Copilot is an AI assistant that also has features that appeal to professionals, such as writing and summarising emails, creating slides, and preparing presentations.
On the other hand, Coca-Cola and Microsoft's closeness is not new. About four years ago, Coca-Cola signed a five-year deal worth $250 million to use Microsoft's cloud and business software and moved all its applications to Microsoft Azure. In the use of artificial intelligence, Coca-Cola has been innovating with productive artificial intelligence for a year. The company is utilising the Azure OpenAI service to redesign everything from marketing to production, supply chain and beyond.
