Paid subscription period starts for TikTok

Social media giant TikTok is working on a paid subscription system. The system, which is being tested in the US in the first place, will offer users an ad-free experience.

Subscription systems, which we have started to see on social media platforms in recent years, have become an important source of income. In this context, a new name may join platforms such as YouTube and Twitter (X). According to the news shared on Android Authority, TikTok started tests for a paid subscription system.

Paid subscription period begins for TikTok

As reported, important findings regarding a paid subscription plan were discovered in the codes of the TikTok application. So much so that it has been officially confirmed that this system will have a monthly fee of $ 4.99 per month. The main purpose of the paid plan will be the removal of personalised ads based on user activity.

According to the shared screenshot, TikTok plans to offer users 2 different options, Standard and Ad-Free. Accordingly, while an advertised experience is offered in the first plan, it is stated that your data will be shared with 3rd parties when device tracking is turned on. In the second plan offered for $ 4.99, it is stated that you can experience an ad-free TikTok experience.

On the other hand, one-time adverts or campaigns are not included in this plan. TikTok also confirmed that the paid subscription system is currently being tested. However, it was stated that it is still in the planning stage. So a final decision has not yet been taken. Therefore, we will have to wait and see whether it will reach our country or whether it will be widely available.
