$250 million for 5 years

OpenAI's deal with News Corp could be worth more than $250 million over the next five years, including cash and the use of OpenAI's technology.

OpenAI has previously made similar licensing agreements with major broadcasters such as The Associated Press and Financial Times. Some media outlets such as The New York Times, New York Daily News, Chicago Tribune and The Intercept filed a lawsuit against OpenAI. They accused both OpenAI and Microsoft of copyright infringement, stating that their news was used to train ChatGPT.
