We're used to seeing newer smartphones receiving big Android updates before their predecessors, but OnePlus went an entirely different way with the Nord line. The original Nord got its Android 12 update about a couple of weeks ago, while its successor, the Nord 2, is only starting to receive it now, after having gone through a couple of Open Betas.
The first one of those was outed about a month ago, so it's no surprise that the stable release took a few weeks after that. Anyway, it's rolling out now as a 4.89GB download, over half a year after Google initially released it, but better late than never, right? The rollout started in India and is being staged as always, and that means only a small subset of devices will get the update notification over the next few days. At some point after that, if no show-stopping bugs are found, it will begin a wider distribution.
