iOS 17.1 release date has been announced: Here`s what`s new

French regulatory group ANFR has announced the date Apple will release the iOS 17 update. iPhone 12's long-discussed radiation problem is being solved, but not limited to this.

According to ANFR, Apple's next iOS update, iOS 17.1, will be released on 24 October. The new iOS 17 version will include a tweak to reduce the radiation level of the iPhone 12. In addition, it will come with a few minor innovations as well as a special change for iPhone 15 Pro models.

The update will solve the iPhone 12 SAR problem. As you may recall, France ordered Apple in September to stop sales of iPhone 12 and fix the phone to bring it into compliance with European electromagnetic radiation standards. According to Apple, ANFR did not take into account the out-of-body detection mechanism in iPhones when calculating the SAR value of the iPhone 12, so the test result was inaccurate. According to Apple, the iPhone 12 has always been safe to use, but the company will still release an update.

The iOS 17.1 update brings an Apple Music favourites system, support for AirDrop over the internet, new options to see bank and credit card balances in the Wallet app, changes to the Action button on iPhone 15 Pros, and more.
