Mark Gurman stated that Apple plans to release the iOS 18.2 update in the first week of December. This update appears to be an Apple Intelligence upgrade, bringing advanced AI features to select iPhone models.
iOS 18.2 will introduce Apple Intelligence features for iPhone 15 Pro models and all iPhone 16 models, including Genmoji for custom emoji creation, Image Playground for cartoon-like visuals, Image Wand to turn sketches in Notes into images, ChatGPT integration for Siri, categories in the Mail app, and visual AI capabilities for iPhone 16.
iOS 18.2 may feel insignificant to users uninterested in Apple Intelligence. The only notable update outside of AI will be the option to customize default apps on iPhone. In the new Default Apps section in Settings, users can replace certain apps, such as call, messaging, mail, and browser apps, with their preferred ones. Additionally, users will be able to control the volume of the song playing from the lock screen.
