New Mac Mini will come with M4 processor

Apple was rumoured to be testing the Mac Mini model with the M3 processor, but according to a new report, the new Mac Mini will come with the artificial intelligence-focused M4 chip.

MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac Apple updated with M3 processor. The M3 Mac Mini was also expected to arrive, but according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple will use the M4 processor, which is said to stand out with artificial intelligence features in the new Mac Mini.

Gurman explained that he does not expect Apple to renew the Mac Mini with the M3 processor. Apple last refreshed the Mac Mini in January 2023 with the M2 and M2 Pro chip. It brought innovations such as additional Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1 port, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 support.

When will the M4 Mac Mini be released?

Apple plans to launch new Mac Mini models with the M4 and M4 Pro processor between late 2024 and early 2025. It is not clear whether the next generation Mac Mini will have any hardware changes other than the M4. It is thought that the M4 will receive major upgrades to the Neural Engine component as well as improvements to artificial intelligence.

Since the introduction of the M1, Apple has gradually upgraded the versions of some models. For example; iMac was upgraded to the M3 processor at the end of 2023, M2 was skipped. Mac Studio, Mac Pro, Mac Mini currently come with the M2 processor.
