Next-generation AirPods Pro will come with a USB-C charging case

AirPods Pro 2 came with Lightning charging case. The updated version of the second generation AirPods Pro will come with a USB-C charging case instead of Lightning. It is not yet known whether there will be hardware changes in the renewed AirPods Pro 2. One of the new AirPods discovered in the iOS 16.4 RC version released earlier this week is said to be this model.

The current AirPods Pro's charging case offers a few innovations, including built-in speaker, strap, U1 chip for Find support, compatibility with Apple Watch charger. Apple is expected to switch to USB-C on iPhone 15 models. It makes sense that the AirPods Pro charging case is also USB-C.
