New features added to YouTube

YouTube is introducing new features, including the ability to fine-tune video speed, tools for collaboration in playlists, an updated mini video player, and a new sleep timer.

YouTube's new video speed controls now allow adjustments in 0.05x increments instead of 0.25x. This gives users more options to set the playback speed that suits them best. The maximum playback speed is still capped at 2x.

The new playlist feature allows you to create collaborative playlists by sharing a link or, for TVs, soon by scanning a QR code. Later this year, users will also be able to vote on videos added to a playlist.

Another improvement coming to YouTube is related to the mini player. The new mini player can now be resized and repositioned.

Finally, for those who like to watch videos before bed, YouTube's new sleep timer feature will be useful. The sleep timer can pause videos after a set time, adjustable between 10 minutes and 1 hour. You can also set it to stop playback at the end of a video. YouTube tested this feature first with Premium subscribers, but now it will be available to all mobile users.
