New emojis coming to iPhones with iOS 18 are announced

Unicode 16.0 emoji list shared. The Unicode Consortium showed the new emojis that Apple is expected to add to iOS 18 and other operating systems.

The Unicode Consortium showed the new emojis that will likely be included in the iOS 18 release in late 2024 or early next year. Seven new emojis are coming in new versions of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, macOS and VisionOS that users can use in messaging apps.

iOS 18 new emojis list

One of the prominent expressions in the Unicode 16.0 emoji list is the face emoji representing fatigue. It will undoubtedly be one of the most used emoticons. Other new emojis include shovel, fingerprint, beetroot and more. Here are the emojis that Apple and Google will use in their new operating systems:

  • Face with bags under the eyes
  • Fingerprint
  • Leafless tree
  • Root vegetables
  • Arp
  • Shovel

The new emojis (especially the emoji representing fatigue, barren tree and shovel) are not very encouraging. An important point; the images above are representative. Apple's design team will probably adapt them to iOS 18 and other new operating systems with minor changes. In addition, these new emojis are expected to be added in later versions, not with the release of iOS 18. The last time new emojis came with the iOS 17.4 update.
