WhatsApp had released its new desktop app for Windows computers earlier this year. Now it has offered the same experience to Mac users. The new WhatsApp application for Mac allows users to make video calls with up to 8 people and participate in voice calls with up to 32 people.
Group call, drag-and-drop support
In the new WhatsApp Mac application, users can join group calls even after the call has started, view their call history, and receive incoming call notifications even when the application is closed. Users can now easily share files by dragging and dropping them into a chat.
WhatsApp has been testing the native client for Mac for some time now. The public beta was released earlier this year for Macs with Apple Silicon processors running macOS 11 Big Sur and above. After the beta process, the final version was released. The new WhatsApp for Mac is currently available for download at whatsapp.com, but will soon be available on the App Store.
