New Details on the iPhone 17 Series Processor

The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be powered by the Apple A19 chip. A new report reveals that the 2025 iPhone models will feature the A19 Bionic chip, which will be produced using TSMC's latest manufacturing process.

Apple analyst Jeff Pu states that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will use the A19 Pro processor, produced with TSMC's third-generation 3nm process. The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will also be powered by the new-generation A19 chip.

iPhone 17 Pro Max to Feature TSMC's Third-Generation 3nm Chip

While the A18 and A18 Pro chips powering the iPhone 16 series are produced using TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process N3E, the A17 Pro chip in the iPhone 15 Pro models is made with TSMC’s first-generation 3nm process N3B. Next year, iPhone 17 Pro models will be made using the latest third-generation 3nm process known as N3P.

TSMC plans to begin 2nm chip production by the end of 2025, and Apple is expected to be the first company to use these newly produced chips. The iPhone 18 models are expected to feature 2nm processors. This will result in even smaller transistor sizes, allowing more data to fit into a single chip, which in turn will enhance processing speed and energy efficiency.
