Instagram has started testing a new feature called Ad Breaks. Users will now have to watch ‘unpassable’ adverts in order to continue looking at photos. Here are the details:
Instagram recently began testing a new feature called ‘Ad Break’. These unskippable ads interrupt the user's browsing experience, requiring them to view an ad for at least 3-5 seconds before they can continue scrolling through their feed.
Numerous users on social networking platforms say that Instagram is testing the ‘Ad Break’ feature that will bring ads that cannot be skipped to the stream. Unskippable adverts will last between 3 - 5 seconds.
According to the screenshot shared by users who started seeing ads in their streams, the ads will appear while looking at photos or stories, and the only way to continue using Instagram will be to watch the ads.
Instagram is currently testing with a small number of users to understand how people react to the new ad format. No official announcement has been made regarding the Ad Break feature, and it is unclear when the impenetrable ads will be applied to all accounts.
