Apple will introduce iOS 17 at the WWDC23 event that will start on June 5th. The company shared the current iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 adoption rates, which were determined on devices that made transactions from the App Store. Current statistics have been shared for those who are wondering what percentage of all active iPhones currently have iOS 16 installed and how many older iOS versions. Apple says that 81% of all active iPhones currently have iOS 16 installed. For comparison, it was 72% in February. According to current data, 13% of active iPhones are still running iOS 15, and 6% are running an even older version of iOS. iPhone 8 and newer models received the iOS 16 update.

Apple says that 71% of all active iPads are running iPadOS 16. This rate was 50% in February.

iOS 17 beta will be released next week

Apple announced the iOS 15 adoption rate as 82% in the same period last year. Now we see similar statistics. With the release of iOS 17 beta, there will be a decrease in the number of devices with iOS 16 installed.
