Meta may launch NFT sales on Instagram

Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, is expanding its support for NFTs (immutable tokens). During its Creator Week event today, the giant company announced that it will allow digital content creators to produce and sell NFT on Instagram.

NFT era begins on Instagram

Although Meta has been working on Instagram and Facebook's NFT support since last year, users were only given the opportunity to showcase their digital collections. According to the statement, Instagram will now have an "end-to-end toolkit" for some creators to create NFT collections and sell them to their fans and followers. Also updating the platform's NFT system, the giant company will allow users to use the blockchain to activate video NFTs on their Instagram profiles. The new feature set is expected to be rolled out to select US-based creators first. However, Meta reports that more users and countries will be supported in the future.
