It is the default messaging platform in many parts of the world; users in different countries often use WhatsApp to communicate. WhatsApp brings a new feature to facilitate global communication. As revealed by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp plans to integrate Google's live translation feature into chats. When this feature is added, users will be able to translate foreign texts without switching between different applications. However, they will need to download the language pack for this. It is rumoured that it will initially be limited to certain languages such as English and Hindi.
WhatsApp Live Translate feature appeared in Android beta version 2.24.15.5. According to the screenshots shared, when the user taps the "translate" option in the chat, the live translation screen will open. When the user selects the language and taps the "translate messages" button, the messages in the conversation will be instantly displayed in the user's preferred language.
