The specifications of the standard model from the Xiaomi 15 series have been revealed. The phone, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, is grabbing attention with its new main camera and much larger battery.
The Xiaomi 15 series is expected to launch shortly after Qualcomm's October 21 announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. While information about the Pro and Ultra models has surfaced, very little was known about the standard model until now. Fortunately, X platform source Yogesh Brar has shared the specifications of the Xiaomi 15.
According to the source, the phone will feature a 6.36-inch 1.5K flat AMOLED display, similar in size and resolution to the Xiaomi 14. While the source did not provide details about the screen brightness, a previous rumor suggested that the Xiaomi 15 series would come with a TCL Huaxing C9 panel, capable of delivering higher brightness and more accurate colors. Therefore, the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to offer a brighter display than its predecessor. For comparison, the Xiaomi 14 could reach up to 1000 nits in direct sunlight and 3000 nits when playing HDR content.
The Xiaomi 15 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (or Snapdragon 8 Elite) chipset and will feature a 5,500 mAh battery. While this capacity is slightly smaller than competitors like the Oppo Find X8 or vivo X200 Pro Mini, it represents a significant jump from its predecessor's 4610 mAh capacity. The phone will offer far greater battery capacity than the 4000 mAh Galaxy S24. It will also support 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, similar to its predecessor.
As for the cameras, the phone is said to feature three 50MP sensors on the rear, including an Omnivision OV50H main sensor, a 3.2X telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide camera. Replacing the OmniVision OVX9000 main camera from the Xiaomi 14, the OV50H will offer excellent low-light and autofocus performance, thanks to Dual Conversion Gain (DCG™) technology and a 1/1.3-inch optical format with 1.2-micron (µm) pixels.
The Xiaomi 15 series is also expected to ship with the Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0 operating system.
