As WhatsApp continues to be updated with new features, new images have emerged that show Meta will drastically change the interface of the messaging app. The renewed interface appeared in front of some Android phone users included in the WhatsApp beta program. WhatsApp is going through a major design change after years.
More modern look
WhatsApp's new UI includes elements with updated Material 3 design. The top bar of the app is now all white, other UI elements are green in the same hue used in the WhatsApp logo. WhatsApp text in different font is seen at the top. In the new design, the location of the navigation bar does not change.
Chat filter
The revamped WhatsApp provides better chat management. There is a chat filter that allows users to see personal or work messages that they have not read. These filters will become even more useful when WhatsApp introduces multi-account support.
Being tested
These changes will give WhatsApp a more modern look and feel. We may see more changes as WhatsApp's revamped design is still in development.
