Instagram Targets TikTok Creators

Facing challenges due to bans in the U.S., Instagram has launched aggressive strategies to attract content creators from TikTok to its own platform.

One of the most popular apps among young people, TikTok is currently in the middle of a serious crisis. The much-anticipated ban in the United States finally took effect, removing the app from App Store and Play Store . Although Donald Trump temporarily lifted the ban, TikTok has not yet fully returned, leaving a significant gap for other tech giants to explore.

Meta is one of the companies seizing this opportunity, targeting not only TikTok users but also content creators. Influencers are being offered payments ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 monthly to produce exclusive content for  Instagram Reels.

Uncertain Future for TikTok

Though TikTok is expected to return to app stores soon, its future remains unclear as the ban could be reinstated after the 75-day extension. During this uncertain period, Instagram is enticing creators with lucrative deals. These agreements require creators to publish content first on Instagram, with the option to share it on other platforms after a specified duration.

Instagram is also evolving its interface and tools to compete more effectively. Last week, it introduced a profile layout similar to TikTok and extended Reels video length to three minutes. Additionally, a new video editing tool named Edits, a direct competitor to CapCut, was launched.
