Recently launched in China to great acclaim, the Huawei Mate X6 is ready to start its global journey. Competing with models like Pixel 9 Pro Fold, OnePlus Open, and Galaxy Z Fold 6, it has made waves with its design and features. Huawei now plans a special event to introduce this foldable innovation to the world.
Huawei, via its X platform, announced a new event scheduled for December 12, 2024, to be held in Dubai. The promotional material reads, “Rediscover the classic, a new era of flagship foldable excellence begins,” clearly indicating that the Mate X6 will make its global debut.
The event may also hint at the newly introduced triple-fold Mate XT Ultimate model, although the #UnfoldTheClassic tagline seems more aligned with the Mate X6. Other products to be showcased include the MatePad Pro 13.2, FreeBuds Pro 4, and the new Watch Ultimate Sapphire Gold version .
The Huawei Mate X6 features a 7.93-inch foldable OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate . Its brightness has been increased to a stunning 2,500 nits. The cover screen measures 6.45 inches and offers similar brightness. Powered by the Kirin 9020 chipset, the phone includes a camera setup of 50 MP f/1.4-f/4.0, 48 MP 4x zoom, and 40 MP f/2.2, alongside a 13 MP front camera.
Built with aviation-grade aluminum, the Mate X6 supports 65W fast charging, packs a 5,200mAh battery, and runs HarmonyOS 4.3. Weighing just 239 grams, it will be available in a 12 GB + 512 GB configuration at an estimated price of $1,935.
