Vulnerability in AirPods headphones closed

Apple has released a cumulative security update for AirPods and Beats headphones. According to the published support document, an important security issue has been fixed.

On 25 June, Apple released a new software update for AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, AirPods 2nd and 3rd generation, Beats Fit Pro and PowerBeats Pro. Although not mentioned in the release notes, a later support document revealed why all Apple headphones received the update on the same day.

According to the document, the recently released update fixes a security issue that allowed a malicious person within range of Bluetooth to access your headphones by spoofing the details of the device to which your headphones were previously connected.
