Mark Gurman has shared updates about the health features of AirPods . Apple is reportedly working on a wide range of health capabilities for AirPods Pro 3, including new sensors.
Apple is developing features like heart rate monitoring, a temperature sensor, and several physiological tracking tools for its upcoming AirPods.
According to Gurman, the heart rate technology might be ready for the early-stage AirPods Pro 3. This feature would allow users to access health and fitness insights without relying on an Apple Watch . Based on Apple’s tests, heart rate measurements are more accurate on Apple Watch compared to AirPods, but the difference is not substantial.
Meanwhile, Apple plans to introduce heart rate tracking in the new Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones. Users will be able to connect the Powerbeats Pro 2 to gym equipment, like treadmills, to measure their heart rate. The data will be viewable in the Health app on iPhone and other supported apps.
Gurman also suggests that Apple is considering adding a camera to future AirPods, enabling AI-powered features for long-term innovation.
