Google brings Find My to Android phones

The Find My (Find My Device) feature, which was launched by Apple in 2019, managed to collect positive comments from iOS users. Now a similar feature is coming to Android phones. A feature similar to the Find My network appeared in the Google Play Services update, which is expected to be shared soon.

Google brings Find My feature to Android phones

According to the new Google Play Services update, it looks like Google is preparing a feature to rival Apple's Find My network. The source files for the new update mention a "privacy-centric software layer" and encrypted last known location reports pointing to this feature. Google's new Find My Device feature will allow users to track lost Android devices that are turned off or not connected to Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, similar to Apple's Find My network. Last year we heard rumors that Google is working on this kind of network. However, not much progress has been made so far. In addition, the new update includes a number of new features in addition to the Find My Device network. The first of these features will allow users to automatically archive applications when storage space is low. Other details include Digital Car Key and Google Wallet app card management support for Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 2.
