The first details about Xiaomi's new Mix Flip 2 have emerged. Reports suggest that this upcoming foldable phone could be released earlier than anticipated.
In July, Xiaomi unveiled its first clamshell foldable phone, the Mix Flip . Positive feedback has encouraged the company to begin developing its next version. According to the latest leaks, Mix Flip 2 is expected to launch in the first half of 2025, as claimed by the renowned source Digital Chat Station.
The first-generation Mix Flip was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The second-generation model is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It will compete directly with Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 7, making it potentially the only clamshell foldable phone in the market to support Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Digital Chat Station also revealed that Mix Flip 2 will introduce wireless charging, a feature absent in the first generation. Additionally, the phone is expected to come with an IPX8 water resistance rating and a slimmer design compared to its predecessor. While the exact battery capacity remains unknown, the increasing battery sizes in flagship devices suggest that Mix Flip 2 might feature a battery exceeding 5,000 mAh.
