Elon Musk`s Neuralink begins human trial for brain implant !

Neuralink has announced that the recruitment of human participants for its brain implant trial has been approved. The company plans to experiment with paralysed people after receiving approval by an independent review board.

Neuralink is known as one of the few companies developing a brain-computer interface (BCI). The company is working on a technology that aims to collect and analyse brain signals.

However, Elon Musk's promises about the company's purpose have raised some scepticism and ethical concerns about the idea of integrating humans into artificial intelligence.

Last year, the Food and Drug Administration rejected Neuralink's request to accelerate human trials. But in May, the company received approval for an investigational device exemption (IDE) for use in clinical trials.

Neuralink is seeking patients with quadriplegia due to vertical spinal cord injury or ALS for the trial. Participants will be given the chance to control a computer cursor or keyboard using their thoughts with a BCI device that will be implanted in a region that controls brain movement. The trial aims to evaluate the safety and functionality of the technology.

Former employees of the company claimed that in experiments on animals, the device was placed in the wrong position, leading to the death of the animals. These allegations triggered various investigations.

Neuralink has not yet made a clear statement about when and where the trial will take place, and how many participants will take part. If the device proves to be safe for human use, the approval process could still take several years.
