Famous billionaire Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, Tesla and Twitter, announced that he will bring rivals to artificial intelligence offered by Microsoft and Google. The artificial intelligence, which Musk calls TruthGPT, will aim to rival Microsoft-backed ChatGPT and Google's Bard artificial intelligence. The first details of this new platform to be established were given during an interview.

Artificial intelligence seeking truth

"I'm going to launch something I call TruthGPT, or a maximum accuracy-seeking artificial intelligence that tries to sense the nature of the universe," Musk told Fox News Channel's Tucker Carlson Tonight on Monday evening. Musk said in a statement that TruthGPT "could be the best route to safety in the sense that an AI that cares about understanding the universe is less likely to destroy humans because we are an interesting part of the universe." Last week, it was revealed that Musk founded an artificial intelligence company called X.AI, headquartered in Nevada. It was also reported that Musk months ago turned to artificial intelligence researchers to develop an alternative to ChatGPT.

Musk's entry into the burgeoning AI market comes long after OpenAI's ChatGPT was released in November. Built on a powerful artificial intelligence engine, the chatbot can write software, chat and compose poetry. Microsoft has already integrated the technology into the Bing search engine, rapidly expanding its partnership with ChatGPT maker OpenAI.
