Meta's upcoming affordable VR/AR headset may be called Quest 3s instead of Quest 3 Lite. Images and some information about the new headset have emerged.
It was revealed that Meta was working on a more affordable VR/AR headset called Meta Quest 3 Lite. However, a new leak claims that this affordable eyewear will be called Meta Quest 3s. At the same time, images and information about the glasses have also emerged.
What will Meta Quest 3S offer?
It is seen that the Meta Quest 3s, which appeared in the screenshots leaked from the Meta User Research Zoom meeting, will come with a screen with 1920 x 1832 resolution and 20 PPD (pixels per degree). The storage space of the VR headset is 256 GB. Meta Quest 3 has a screen with a resolution of 2208 x 2064 pixels and 25.5 PPD.
The affordable glasses look a little smaller in terms of size. The most important difference between the two headsets in terms of appearance is the arrangement of sensors and cameras on the front. While Quest 3 has three vertical lines for sensors, Quest 3S has 6 round sensors, three on the left and three on the right.
It was claimed that Meta's new VR headset may not have AR (Augmented Reality) functions. However, if the images are correct, the sensors and cameras on the front show that this claim is not true. On the processor side, the device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 platform found in the standard Quest 3. Quest 3S is expected to be introduced this year.
