Samsung, which introduced the flagship Galaxy S23 series to users last February, managed to collect positive reviews. In this context, it has become a matter of great curiosity what the Galaxy S24 series will offer. According to the first information shared, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be unrivaled in terms of screen technology and camera features. Here's what we know about the new flagship. If we recall, the leaks shared last month showed us that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a telephoto camera with 4th generation optics and an aperture between f2.5 and f.9. Both of these will allow the new flagship to take pictures with 150x zoom.
Today, known leaker Sam Lover reported that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a 144Hz refresh rate. Considering that most current smartphones offer a 120Hz refresh rate, we can say that this upgrade will set the S24 Ultra apart from its competitors. As a matter of fact, Apple, the closest rival of the Korean giant, also includes higher refresh rates in Pro models. Current leaks point to the use of Samsung M13 panels, which stand out with improved power efficiency, in the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models, which are expected to be released at the end of 2023. Therefore, we may encounter a similar panel preference in the Galaxy S24 series. But we'll have to wait a little longer to confirm this.
As it is known, the Galaxy S23 Ultra came up with an LTPO panel that offers variable refresh rates up to 1Hz-120Hz, compared to the 48-120Hz range of the basic models in the family. At this point, instead of the 144Hz upgrade planned for the Ultra model, we think it would make more sense to switch to LTPO displays in affordable Galaxy S24 versions. However, let us remind you that this change will cause a potential cost increase in the Galaxy S24 series.
