ChatGPT will ruin Google`s business in two years

Artificial intelligence could eliminate the need for search engine results pages, where Google makes the most money. Paul Buchheit, known as the architect of Gmail, thinks ChatGPT is a real threat to Google. According to the American computer programmer, the company's advertising business will begin to collapse in a maximum of two years. Buchheit said this concerns not only Google but all other search engines as well. In other words, the entire search industry is about to lose one of its biggest revenue streams.

ChatGPT has become a favorite

Launched in November last year, ChatGPT allowed users to get the answers they wanted without struggling with search results spanning dozens of pages. The AI-based tool can communicate in a chat style, as well as allowing users to ask additional and clarifying questions. A large part of Google's advertising business is based on showing ads on search pages based on certain keywords. The company made more than $250 billion in revenue in 2021, the best revenue in its 25-year history.

With the rise of ChatGPT, users' preference for chatbots where they can get answers to their questions more easily instead of dealing with long search results pages may throw Google's search engine away from its old glory days.
