Bad news for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max

The biggest commonality of the countless news about the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max was the solid-state buttons. It was claimed that Apple would bring this touch key design to replace the existing physical keys. However, different new reports state that this feature has been shelved due to some issues.

iPhone 15 Pro family may have lost its lock feature

According to the latest information shared by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the next-generation iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will no longer have solid-state buttons due to "unresolved technical issues before mass production." The working logic of the solid state buttons is the same as the home button of the iPhone 7. With the two additional Taptic Engines to be found in the iPhone 15 Pro family, haptic feedback would be provided by simulating the feeling of pressing the keys. It is stated that the join state buttons will not reach the iPhone 15 Pro family due to problems, but we will see the feature in the iPhone 16 series.

It is not known what the technical problem is, but it is reported that it appeared in engineering test devices. Therefore, before mass production, Apple is likely to change its supply channel and return to the traditional physical key design. However, it is also said that Cirrus Logic and AAC Technologies, which produce components related to the Taptic Engine for iPhones, will be in a difficult situation after this change.
