Launching the 11-inch and 13-inch M4 iPad Pro models with OLED displays, Apple has managed to have a significant share in the OLED display tablet market with successful sales figures
According to a report by research firm Display Supply Chain Consultants, the new iPad Pros not only exploded sales of OLED panels, but also led the company to have a 72% share of the OLED tablet market in the second quarter of 2024. Huawei and Samsung were able to get 13% and 9% share, respectively.
Overall, OLED tablet shipments hit a record high of 4.11 million units, a massive 356% year-over-year increase, the report said. The 13-inch iPad Pro led the market in panel shipments for the second consecutive quarter, with a slight edge over the 11.1-inch iPad Pro. Both models achieved a 36 per cent share in the second quarter. In third place was the Huawei Mate Pad Pro 13.2" with a 5% share. When we look at OLED panel suppliers, LG and Samsung were by far at the top with 41% share each.
Display Supply Chain Consultants forecasts a small decline (5%) in the third quarter of 2024, but a 169% year-on-year increase to 3.9 million units.
