Apple introduced the MacBook Air series with the new M3 processor. New laptops with 13-inch and 15-inch screen sizes have become even more powerful with new processors.
MacBook Air 2024 features
The new M3 processor offers up to 60% higher performance than the M1. Compared to the previous M2, it brings a performance increase of 17% in single core and 21% in multi-core. GPU performance is reported to increase by 15 per cent. Apple says there is also a significant increase in artificial intelligence performance thanks to the faster and more efficient Neural Engine.
Produced with the 3nm production process, M3 has 8 CPU cores and a GPU unit that can be configured up to 10 cores. Macbook Air, which has 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage at the base level, offers up to 24 GB RAM and up to 2 TB storage options.
MacBook Air comes in 13.6-inch and 15.3-inch sizes with Liquid Retina display options with 500 nits brightness.
The thin and lightweight computers offer up to 18 hours of battery life, support for up to two external displays, and up to twice as fast Wi-Fi 6E support. Other features include MagSafe charging, two Thunderbolt connections, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 1080p FaceTime camera, Dolby Atmos and spatial audio support, Touch ID and AV1 decoder support.
MacBook Air sales date
The new MacBook Air with M3 chip can be ordered starting today from Apple.com and the Apple Store app in 28 countries and territories, including the US. The models will begin shipping to customers on Friday, 8 March and will be available at Apple Stores and Apple Authorised Resellers.
