According to the shared comparison results, the M4 Pro scores 22,062 in Geekbench 6's multi-core tests, while the M3 Max scores 21,045. It's worth noting that the M3 Pro also has 21,045 points in similar tests. Thus, the M4 Pro is 41%faster than its predecessor, the M3 Pro.

Regarding the official announcement, Apple claims that the M4 Pro demonstrates up to 1.9 times the performance of the M1 Pro and up to 2.1 times that of the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V. The shared results confirm this. We see that the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V reaches a multi-core score of 10,506.

So, what causes this increase? For those who missed it, the Apple M4 Pro features 10 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, totaling 10+4. It’s important to note that the M3 Pro was introduced with 6 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores. Additionally, the new processor is based on TSMC's second-generation 3nm process.

Moreover, it can offer up to 64 GB of RAM and 273 GB/s memory bandwidth. It is nearly identical to the M3 Max and almost twice as high as that of the M3 Pro (150 GB/s).
