Apple Intelligence Features Missing from iOS 18.1

Apple is launching Apple Intelligence AI features with the iOS 18.1 update, but not all features will be available right away.

While tools like writing assistants, summarization, and smart replies will debut with iOS 18.1, the most anticipated AI tools, such as Image Playground, won’t be part of this update. Let’s take a look at the missing features in iOS 18.1 and when they might become available.

Image Playground

This tool will allow users to generate cartoon-like images from text. It will be available as a standalone app, integrated into Messages and Notes, where users can create images based on their notes or generate fun drawings based on friends' photos.

Genmoji

Apple’s Genmoji feature will let users create custom emojis. However, for the emojis to display properly, the recipient must also have iOS 18 installed.

This new tool will enhance simple drawings in Notes by turning them into professional visuals. It will be especially useful for iPad users.

Siri will receive some updates with iOS 18.1, but major features like "screen awareness" and "personal context" will come in future updates.

ChatGPT Integration

Apple is working on a feature that will allow Siri to handle complex queries by redirecting them to ChatGPT, but this won’t be available in iOS 18.1.
