AMD unveils Ryzen 7 5800X 3D with 3D V-Cache: “World’s best gaming cpu”

The annual CES exhibition, which is a favorite of technology enthusiasts, continues this year in an exciting way. AMD, Intel`s longtime rival, has introduced the Ryzen 7 5800X 3D processor, which it calls the "most powerful gaming processor in the world."

That may not sound like much, but this chip is basically just a proof of concept. AMD likely needs to prove that its V-cache technology can actually ship to consumers before it starts integrating it into future lineups. The company says the 5800X3D will be available later this spring.

The presented Ryzen 7 5800X 3D processor has 8 cores and 16 threads based on the Zen 3 architecture. Also running at 3.4 GHz, this processor can raise to 4.5 Ghz turbo frequency under load. The processor, which has 32 MB L3 cache, will have an additional 64 MB precache, AMD said.
