The Apple A18 chipset, which will power the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models, is designed to load a certain level of machine learning processes.
Known as the fastest processors in the mobile world, the Apple A series continued this title this year. Apple A18 chipsets powering the iPhone 16 series and Apple A18 Pro chipsets powering the iPhone 16 Pro series have extensive engineering work.
Apple A18 is more efficient and more performant thanks to the second generation 3nm production process. 4 efficiency cores are positioned next to 2 performance cores. Compared to the Apple A16 Bionic chipset, 30 percent higher processor performance and 30 percent are achieved.
The graphics unit is scaled as 5 cores and again, 35 per cent energy efficiency is achieved with 40 per cent performance improvement compared to A16 Bionic. The 16-core neural processing unit also has 35TOPS performance. Memory bandwidth increased by 17 per cent. As with the Apple A18 Pro processor, high-volume media processing and artificial intelligence performance are not available here.
